In March 2023, Casey Ellis assumed the role of Executive Director for the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts, marking the beginning of his tenure with the organization. Prior to this, he held the position of Owen County Judge/Executive for two consecutive terms, having previously served as an Owen County Magistrate and a member of the Owenton City Council.

 

During his time as Judge/Executive, Ellis actively participated in various boards and committees, notably serving as the president of the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association (KCJEA) and chairing the KCJEA's Legislative Committee.
