Over the past several months, the Kentucky Career Center – TENCO team has been hosting and participating in a series of career and resource fairs across the region, creating meaningful connections between job seekers, employers, and community partners. These events have become a vital part of strengthening the local workforce and expanding access to opportunities close to home.

From Mason and Fleming counties to Bath, Greenup, and beyond, each event has brought together employers representing industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, education, skilled trades, and public service. Job seekers have had the chance to engage in face-to-face conversations, learn about open positions, explore training programs, and access services designed to remove barriers to employment.

These career fairs are more than hiring events — they are connection points. Attendees gain insight into career pathways, receive guidance on resume writing and interview skills, and connect with organizations that can help with everything from transportation and childcare to job training and continuing education. For many, it's the first step toward a new career or a fresh start.

A key component of that success is a strong partnership with the Buffalo Trace Area Development District (BTADD), the administrative entity for the TENCO Workforce Development Board. Through regional collaboration, BTADD helps align workforce initiatives with economic development efforts, ensuring employers and job seekers alike benefit from a coordinated approach. That partnership amplifies the impact of each event by connecting workforce services with broader regional goals — including business growth, talent retention, and community sustainability.

Together, Kentucky Career Center – TENCO and BTADD are working to build a more resilient workforce by meeting people where they are and bringing opportunities directly into their communities. These events reflect a shared commitment to empowering individuals, supporting local businesses, and driving long-term economic growth across the region.

As that momentum builds, one thing is clear: when partners work toward a common goal, real change follows — and communities are stronger for it.
