Pennyrile ADD announces growth in Veteran Directed Care Program

Feb 21, 2026

Program growth reflects expanding partnerships and a shared commitment to empowering veterans through independent, home-based care

The Pennyrile Area Development District (PeADD) is excited to share the incredible momentum behind its expanding Veteran Directed Care (VDC) Program. Over the past year, the program has experienced exponential growth, reflecting both the increasing demand for veteran-centered services and strength of its partnerships across the region.

The VDC Program continues to enhance and strengthen home-based supports and services that empower veterans to live independently while maintaining choice and control over their care. Currently, the program proudly supports 398 active veterans, with 67 additional veterans pending enrollment. This growth is made possible through strong collaboration with 18 spoke agencies and 11 VA medical centers, ensuring veterans receive high-quality, coordinated care tailored to their individual needs.

Behind the scenes, PeADD's program and Financial Management Services staff continue to work closely with Nexus to streamline data and financial processes, improving efficiency and accuracy. The program is also successfully utilizing Verify Comply to enhance exclusion monitoring across federal and state databases for individuals and entities connected to VDC, further strengthening compliance and program integrity.

This growth represents more than numbers. It reflects a shared commitment to honoring veterans by supporting independence, dignity and choice in their homes and communities. PeADD is proud of the progress made and excited about what lies ahead as the Veteran Directed Care Program continues to expand its reach and impact.
