Development to provide 72 affordable, accessible units for Kentuckians with disabilities

Judge/Executive David Voegele and the Oldham County Fiscal Court, in partnership with Apple Patch Community, Inc., doing business as Pillar, announce the award of a $1 million Community Development Block Grant from the Kentucky Department for Local Government to conduct site work on a parcel of property owned by Pillar.
The site work will serve as the initial phase of an apartment complex development, a project that will not be funded with CDBG funds. The complex is planned to include 72 accessible units for individuals with disabilities, offering affordable housing in a safe, supportive community. The development is designed to promote independence while providing necessary support without requiring Kentucky's Supports for Community Living waiver, a Medicaid waiver program.
In addition to the CDBG award, Oldham County received $95,000 from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development's Government Resources Accelerating Needed Transformation Program, known as GRANT, which provides local matching funds for certain grants.
The awards were made possible through collaboration with the Department for Local Government, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) and the office of Gov. Andy Beshear, with a focus on expanding supportive housing for individuals with disabilities.
