Northern Kentucky Housing Convening highlights regional housing trends, policy developments and opportunities for collaboration

Housing challenges and opportunities for regional collaboration took center stage earlier this month as the Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) brought together elected officials, housing professionals and community partners for the Northern Kentucky Housing Convening.

The event provided an opportunity for regional stakeholders to examine housing trends, share updates on ongoing initiatives and discuss strategies to address housing needs across Northern Kentucky.

Nels Nelson of CommunityScale opened the presentations with an update on regional housing data and progress, highlighting trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the region's housing landscape.

Laurie Benner and Christine Windle of the National Association of Realtors followed with a discussion on attainable housing practices and federal legislative developments. Their presentation highlighted approaches being considered nationwide and policy changes that could affect housing efforts at the local and regional levels.

Jeanne Schroer and Joe Klare of the Catalytic Fund concluded the presentations with updates on the Northern Kentucky Housing Fund and its efforts to support housing initiatives throughout the region.

Following the presentations, attendees participated in an interactive discussion focused on current housing projects, regional priorities and opportunities for collaboration. The activity brought together elected officials, real estate professionals, planners, housing experts and other stakeholders to exchange perspectives and learn more about initiatives underway in Northern Kentucky communities.

The convening underscored the importance of continued communication, reliable data, shared resources and strong partnerships in addressing regional housing challenges. NKADD thanked participants for sharing their expertise and contributing to the discussion.
