Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear was traveling in the Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) region Tuesday, Feb. 3, making announcements impacting economic development. Beshear and his team took a short coffee break and stopped in at BRADD during an agency-wide staff meeting. Beshear delivered remarks centered around the positive impact the ADDs contribute to the commonwealth.

During his visit, he specifically called out examples of BRADD's contributions to the region's growth and development with projects like the Anchor Project, expansion of its Medicaid waiver services division, the addition of direct operations of the area senior centers, the digitalization of its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy and its recent FY25 audit with an unmodified opinion.

Beshear explained the importance of the planning work and direct services BRADD provides to its local communities and discussed his vision for a bright future. BRADD would like to thank Beshear for stopping by while in the region and giving his time to inform and support BRADD's mission of improving the quality of life for all who live and work in South Central Kentucky.
