Partnership connects laid-off workers with jobs, training and support services
The Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass/American Job Center is partnering with the City of Lexington through WORK-Lexington and the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet to provide Rapid Response services for Fayette County Public Schools employees affected by recent layoffs. At least three Rapid Response sessions are planned in Fayette County.
The effort is designed to connect affected employees with workforce resources, unemployment assistance, career counseling, training opportunities and job search support.
"This partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration in supporting our community during challenging times," said Tiffanie Reeves, director of workforce services. "By bringing the workforce in the Bluegrass together with WORK-Lexington and our state and local partners, we are ensuring impacted employees have immediate access to the resources, guidance and opportunities they need to successfully move forward."
Rapid Response events are designed to minimize the impact of layoffs by coordinating timely workforce services and connecting individuals to employment and training resources. Representatives from workforce, education, community and government organizations will be on-site to assist attendees and answer questions.
"Our team remains committed to providing comprehensive Rapid Response services throughout the Bluegrass region whenever workers are affected by layoffs or business closures," said Rolando Thacker, business services manager. "We will continue working closely with our partners to ensure individuals receive personalized support, career guidance and access to opportunities that help them re-enter the workforce successfully."
