The 2026 Green River Area Wellness Mission is proof of what can happen when organizations come together around a shared purpose.

Made possible through a partnership between the Green River Area Development District (GRADD), the City of Henderson, the U.S. Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program, the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), and dozens of local healthcare providers, schools, nonprofit organizations and volunteers, the mission brought healthcare services at no cost to thousands of people throughout the Green River region.

Over the course of the mission, 2,525 patients received care while 441 animals were seen through the veterinary clinic. Medical teams completed 20,482 procedures, providing more than $1.56 million in healthcare services at no cost to the community. Those services included 1,138 pairs of prescription glasses and 6,013 dental procedures, helping improve the health and quality of life of residents across the region.

The mission also fulfilled an important military objective. Through the Innovative Readiness Training Program, service members completed 7,227 training hours, gaining valuable hands-on experience by working alongside civilian healthcare professionals in real-world clinical settings.

While the numbers are impressive, they only tell part of the story. The mission was the result of months of planning and coordination by partners who shared a common goal of improving access to care. Every organization involved—from those preparing facilities and coordinating logistics to the healthcare professionals providing treatment and the volunteers welcoming patients—played a critical role in making the mission a success.

The Green River Area Wellness Mission demonstrates the impact that can be made when local, state and federal partners work together. By combining resources, expertise and a commitment to service, these organizations not only expanded access to healthcare but also strengthened relationships that will continue to benefit the Green River region for years to come.

GRADD extends its sincere appreciation to the City of Henderson, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Delta Regional Authority, healthcare providers, school districts, volunteers and the many community partners whose dedication made the 2026 Green River Area Wellness Mission possible. Together, they made a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of people across our region.
