FIVCO Area Development District

May 22, 2026

FIVCO awarded a KYOAAC grant for recovery community center

The FIVCO Area Development District (ADD) has been awarded $434,596 to establish a Recovery Community Center (RCC) in Boyd County. The two-year initiative will expand access to peer-based recovery support services and strengthen the region's coordinated response to substance use disorder.

An RCC is a nonprofit, peer-led model that supports individuals in recovery through advocacy, education and service. RCCs are designed to empower individuals with lived experience by providing recovery coaching, support groups, resource navigation and opportunities for community engagement. Workforce readiness will also serve as a key pillar of the RCC, equipping participants with job readiness skills, employment connections and the support necessary to re-enter and sustain participation in the workforce. These organizations play a critical role in reducing stigma, promoting long-term recovery and connecting individuals to essential health, employment and social services.

FIVCO ADD will lead the project in collaboration with key regional partners, including Hillcrest-Bruce Mission, UK King's Daughters, Pathways Inc., Ramey-Estep/Re-group and Tri-State Primary Care.
