In recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Month, Cumberland Valley Area Development District staff gathered for a ribbon ceremony to help raise awareness about elder abuse and the importance of protecting older adults in its communities

The Cumberland Valley Area Development District recognized Elder Abuse Awareness Month by holding a ribbon ceremony to raise awareness about elder abuse and the importance of protecting older adults in the communities it serves.

During the event, CVADD staff wore purple, the color symbolizing elder abuse awareness, to demonstrate their commitment to promoting the safety, dignity and well-being of older adults.

The ceremony also highlighted the role individuals can play in recognizing the signs of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation and helping prevent it.

CVADD is encouraging community members to learn more about elder abuse, support older adults and speak up if they suspect someone may be at risk, emphasizing the importance of working together to help ensure older adults are treated with respect, care and protection.
