WKWB and partners connect hundreds of job seekers and employers across the Pennyrile this spring

The West Kentucky Workforce Board (WKWB), in partnership with regional chambers, school systems, economic development organizations, and workforce partners, continues creating meaningful connections between employers and job seekers through a series of successful job fairs held across the Pennyrile region this spring. These events brought together hundreds of students, adults, and employers for face-to-face conversations, on-site interviews, resume assistance, and career exploration opportunities designed to strengthen the regional workforce pipeline.
One recent event was hosted through a partnership between WKWB, the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce, and Trigg County Public Schools. Fifteen employers participated, offering students and community members the opportunity to learn about local careers, submit resumes, and participate in on-site interviews, with 183 high school juniors and seniors during the school day. Adults looking for work met with employers during the afternoon.
WKWB also partnered with the Muhlenberg Economic Growth Alliance (MEGA) to host a regional job fair at the Sue and Brown Badgett Center in Greenville. The event drew more than 60 job seekers and approximately 30 employers representing a variety of industries. In addition to employer recruitment, workforce staff provided a dedicated resume preparation area, where approximately 20 participants received individualized assistance to improve their resumes and prepare for interviews.
Another major workforce event was the Regional Job Fair hosted at the Sportsplex in Hopkinsville through a partnership involving the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, WKWB, and Christian County Public Schools. The event focused on graduating seniors from Christian, Todd, and Trigg counties who were ready to enter the workforce immediately after high school graduation. Eighteen employers participated, connecting with approximately 90 students interested in full-time employment and career opportunities within the region.
WKWB also participated in a large-scale Job Expo that welcomed more than 300 attendees and approximately 30 employers. Across all job fair events, employers conducted interviews on-site, while students and job seekers were encouraged to arrive prepared with resumes and a professional mindset.
These collaborative events reflect the continued commitment of workforce, education, and economic development partners to building strong talent pipelines and helping employers connect with motivated job seekers. By creating opportunities for direct engagement between businesses and the workforce, the West Kentucky Workforce Board and its partners continue supporting economic growth and long-term career success throughout the Pennyrile region.
