David Duttlinger, Executive Director of the Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD), State Representatives District 55 Kim King, State Senator District 12 Amanda Bledsoe, and Mike Riley, Human Resources Director at BGADD, in attendance at the BGADD Annual Meeting.
The Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) hosted its annual meeting at the DoubleTree in Lexington Nov. 12. The event marked several milestones in the organization’s history, including the introduction of a keynote speaker, a shift in the meeting schedule, and initiatives aimed at improving governance and community impact.

For the first time, the meeting featured a guest speaker, Scott Harvey, author of “Silence Kills—Communication Tactics to Speak with Confidence and Build Your Influence.” Harvey’s keynote address emphasized the importance of clear and confident communication, inspiring attendees to leverage these skills in both personal and professional settings.
The decision to hold the meeting in the fall aligned with the end of the fiscal year, enabling a more strategic review of achievements and planning for the future. This new schedule aims to enhance the district’s responsiveness and relevance in serving the region.
A highlight of the meeting was the revision of the organization’s bylaws aimed at fostering better governance. With a focus on continuous improvement, or “1% better every day,” BGADD reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in serving the community.

Regina Goodman, Caregiver Support Coordinator and Dementia Care Specialist for the Bluegrass Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living, was named Employee of the Year, celebrated for her loyalty and dedication to serving the district’s citizens.
The meeting also recognized champions from BGADD’s advisory committees. These individuals were honored for their leadership and contributions to advancing the district’s mission through decentralized, citizen-driven governance:
